Lavender essential oil has a long list of uses! If you are just getting into essential oils, lavender is good one to start with! It is one of the few essential oils you do not need a carrier oil for, as it is safe to use directly on your skin. Try it for:
- Sleep Aide. A drop or two on each shoulder right before bed or on the bottoms of your feet will work wonders to help you fall asleep and sleep well.
- Stress relief. A drop on each temple, massaged gently with a few slow, deep breaths will help you settle down in moments of stress at work, with your kids, while driving, or during any time in which life gets to you!
- Headaches. Similar to stress, a drop or two on the temples, especially if done as the you feel a headache come on, is a great, all-natural way to get you back to headache free.
- Bee Stings and Bug Bites. Rub a drop on the sting or bite; it's instant pain and itch relief.
- Minor Burns. Use essential oil directly on a minor burn for immediate pain relief and to help keep from blistering. It's also great for healing.
- Blisters, Cuts, Minor Wounds. Lavender is anti-bacterial, so it's great on little cuts and scrapes.
- Lice Prevention. Mix a few drops into a half cup of coconut oil, massage into hair and scalp. After a few hours, wash it out. Your hair will not only be soft, but lice will leave you alone! During "lice season," once a week is typically good.
- Psoriasis and Eczema. Lavender is healing and calming for both of these conditions.
- Acne.
- Bug Repellent. Mosquitoes, moths (keep dried lavender in your off season clothes or closets), wasps, fleas, spiders, house flies do not like lavender.
- Disinfectant. It's great for counters, sinks, and other surfaces.
- Laundry. Lavender essential oil has been used since ancient times for laundry, both in the wash and the dryer. If you use dryer balls, you can use a few drops to freshen those, or put a few drops in your wash.
- Pets. Your pets can benefit from lavender: it can sooth them if used behind their ears, can keep flies and mosquitoes and fleas away on hikes if used on their fur. Pets should not consume essential oil, and remember their sense of smell is much stronger than ours, so keep it away from their snout.

Harbor view lavender
You should visit the lavender farm on mission point. So fun to watch the process. And the “she shed” full of all sorts of homemade lavender products is amazing. Love this farm and site. Customer service at the farm and on site is spot on. Have been purchasing my lavender oil here for a couple years now. The fragrance is so wonderful.
